OLYMPIAD GAMES: U.S.A. Final Derby
LOOKS TO HELSINKI
No Jesse Owens But Well Represented In Sprints
(By "Recorder')
The Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S.A. will be able to call forth next year, for the Olympic Games at Helsinki, Fin- land, a team that promises to be in no way inferior to any that have yet represented the U.S.A, in the Games.
Where no second Jesse Owens has to date been unearthed... America will not be weak in the sprint events. Reports have reached us of a 16-year-old California schoolboy. Eddle Morris, who recently ran 220 yards in 21 seconds flat.
Although it would be difficult to give much credit to this report. which was accepted with reserva- tion even by the American press, the U.S.A. has yet other sprinters who could be called forth to amu- late the feats of the champions of Los Angeles and Berlin.
