Adjustment to society, oc.. cupation and sex are the three main aspects which face the Individual in the present-day world. This was strongly em- phasized at the last meeting of the British Social Hygiene Council, whose report for 1938 stresses the need for education. and yet more education in the way the human body functions. The report makes strong plea for education in the science of life so that it can be adapted to the promotion of general health and happiness of mankind. Statis- tica given in the review of the work of the Council makes impor- tant references to the unabate- ment of venereal disease, and men- tions that a more effective treat- ment for gonorrhea in the form of a new sulphonanide preparation makes the outlook in this direc- tion more hopeful for the future. SOCIAL SERVICES
The Council made every effort to improve social services and has been conducting vigorous pro- paganda to enlighten the publié on social hygiene and its relation to sex, but any such scheme must, of necessity, be directed towards securing continuity of treatment. the seeking out of contacts and the building up of social services to provide sex guidance.
