Dear Sir,
I beg to acknowledge receipt of your note of the 3rd inst.,
in which you request me to inform you upon such authority as I may have made my Statement in the "China Mail" of the 1st inst., regarding the application of the Carpenter of the "Tweed" (Twedderburn) to be enrolled in my Police prior to his being taken out on board.
