The man from the Audit Office called
A Gentleman
here this
morning before your arrival to
deliver a bundle of Vouchers from Hong Kong. He stated that the Vouchers were clearly intended for the Commissioner of Audit.
I requested that they might be sent to you. The Gentleman's belief was that they will not reach this office in the present
condition, in which they were received here.
