Mr. Encarnacao Is Most Successful Jockey

Daily Double paid $1,054.70 to the seven who were lucky enough to spot both King Kong and Silver Star. Mr. Eu Tong-sen and Mr. Dynasty shared owners' hon- ours, each securing two wins, whilst Mr. C. This race was a demonstration of Mr. Needa's knack for bidding his time and coming up at the right moment. Oak Bay led all the way till the Bend,' when King's Warden, which had been content to keep level with Humdrum Eve, was sent by Mr. Needa to first

HANDICAPPING

The handicapping, "for the (First Hongkong Handicap Section), which was the sixth race on Saturday at the Valley, appears to have been some. what odd.

1

In the upper portion of the race card for this race, the various handicaps are given. In a footnote, it is stated that Rosc Elect does not accept, the

will following weights

Bear Claw. De- apply. sert Chiet and King's Warden are raised five lbs. each. Red Featurer is raised only two lbs. and Moonlight View, Rob Roy and Wild Life remain the same. The weights for the last three ponies were, therefore, unchanged whether Rose Elect started or not. Surely the cor- rect thing to do is to state that top weight (Rose Elect)" not accepting. "all weights would be raised five pounds;"

Why should Rob Roy and Wild Life and Moonlight View not be penalised two to five pounds should Rose Elect not run,

This handicapping is surely unique!
