"THE LONE WOLF
IN PARIS” With a background of continental intrigue, adventure and romance in {Parts and in a colourful Graustar- klan country, "The Lone Wolf in Paris," which opens today at the Majestic Theatre, has, Læderer and Frances Drake sharing honours in a fast-moving sophisticated adven- ture story.
Construction of the islands of Pemba and Zanzibar, miles of
Jungle and the village of Ulu is under way, and experts. at auch things say they're going to cost Kix pretty big figures to com plete.
Considering the fact that the studio sent out an expedition under Mrs. Martin Johnson to photograph real African backgrounds, crowds and action, the production shapes up from this distance as one of the biggest ever in Hollywood. One, of the most interesting sets surely will be that of a Masai village which was shipped in its entirety from Africa, but we hear that it will be no more authentic than the sets bulit from the hundreds of contemporary drawings collected by the studio's research head. Frances Richardson.

MAUREEN TAKES A NEW COURSE
Describing her picture career in Hollywood as education in which a series directors have of helpfu been her teachers. Maureen O'Sullivan terms her latest" picture A "post graduate ccargo."
The picture is Columbia's "Let Us Live," directed by John Brahm, in which Miss O'Sullivan is fea- tured with Henry Fonda and Ralph Bellamy.
The actress, on finishing her dramatic role in the productión, paid high tribute Director Brahm's mentorship.
to
"I have been very fortunate ever since I left a convent in Ireland at the age of 17 and came to Hollywood," said Man- reen. "Beginning with Frank Arst Borzage, who gave me iny. chance, I have been tutored with rare consideration by excellent directors.
"From some of them I learned how to handle comedy or ingenue roles. Others taught, me proper timing, better Vocal inflection and other essentials of acting: But it remained for Mr. Brahm to give me A post-graduate course during the making of Let Us Live'. This has been my most import dramatic part and if I have succeeded in 'the deep- ly emotional scenes, the credit should go to the director. For he has been very patient and considerate guide.”
.
WRONG NUMBER Jack Holt was the victim of his own cleverness during a scene in Columbia's Whispering Enemies. The scene required him to answer a phone, and Holt unconsciously slipped into the disguised voice he employs at home until he learns to whom he le talking,
Director Lewig D. Collins "snap- ped him out of it with: "Hey! You're talking like your valet! You aren't at home now. We're shooting a picture, remember?"
