TENNIS TOURNAMENT

TSUI BROTHERS' EASY WIN IN FIRST GAME

No Matches Of Particular

Interest Yesterday

Yesterday's matches in the first round of the annual Colony Open tennis championships produced nothing of any particular interest, most of the encounters going as expected.

The Tsui Brothers, donbies champions, played their first rame. against T. C. Monaghan and T. J. Gould. and the four games that they conceded in their straight sets win just about sums up the match. They were not in the least extended and no idea of their likely form can be guared from this.

In the other doubles match the more aggressive play of E. E. Storey and J. J. Ferguson brought them home against a steady Chinese combination in Pang Ot-lam and Wei Chung after a closely-contest- ed Aght.

SINGLES

H. D. Rumjahn, one-time singles

of the title for many years, had some useful practice against the veteran Wong" Fuk-nam, who managed to take seven games from him.

whereafter, having shot his bolt, he was unable to take

single game in the final set. Leong Ping-chin beat Lee Chee- man in a game that had more bright spots than the score Ind!- cated, though the standard throughout was not high.

Incapacitated as the result of an injury sustained at rugger, W: A Land. Army player, conceded a walk-over to W. J. Howard.
