CHIU in the opening event of the day, won a magni- ficent race to pay $3,711.60 to each of its three happy backers. This is the highest parl-mutuel payment in the history of the Hongkong Jockey Club, and set the ball. rolling for an afternoon of splendid racing and good returns.
