BY EMULATING THE FEAT ACCOMPLISHED. SILKYLIGHT LAST YEAR OF BRINGING OFF THE CLASSIC DOUBLE, Mr. Eu Tong-sen's Rose Elect, rid- den by Mr. C. Encarnacao, who brought it to victory in the Derby on Monday, won the Champions on the fourth day of the annual race meeting at Happy Valley yesterday.
This win was not as convincing as the previous one, however, when the "crack" pony set a new record for the Derby, as Desert Chief, with Mr. W. G. Poy up, so hard pressed its stable-companion in the home stretch that at one time a sensational upset appeared quite possible.
