Race No. 2-"The Melbourne. Cup." 1 miles. A bandicap steeplechase for Australian ponies. Winners of a steeplechase ance January 1 1939, barred. Winner a Cup or $75: 2nd $40; 3rd $30. Entry Fee $3.

Two members narrowly missed scoring a century, both being only one point short, while P.O. Swan scored a good 94 with the S.R. (a) Rifle.
