I have the honor to report to you, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, the particulars of the case in which Mr. C. W. Nicole, Master of the American ship "Reindeer",
was deprived by me of his seaman, named John Morrison, with a violent assault committed on board the "Reindeer" in Victoria Harbor, and for which assault Mr. Nichols was summoned by the Honorable the Chief Magistrate, and convicted to pay a fine to the Queen of fifty dollars, ordered twenty-five dollars amended to the said Complainant, in default of payment thirty days imprisonment.
