Accused Alleges Principal Witness Party To Crime
THE FIRST OF THE TWO murder cases on the calendar of this month's Criminal Sessions began at the Supreme Court yesterday before the Chief Justlee, Sir Atholl MacGregor, and (Foreman), W K. Way. a Jury comprising Messrs. R. Petrie Choung Wing-shing, A.G.. Goldan, Wong Tse-fong, Wang Shia- chuen and Chang Sal-cheang.
Accused were Chan Yeung and Tae Chun, mining coolies. and they were charged with the killing of a fellow coolle named Wong Kwal-fong on the hillside off the Talpo Road or December 1. The Crown alleged that deceased owned first ac- cused $10, and a possible motive for the crime, which was com mitted during an outing in which three other men took part. was that Wong had refused to repay the money.
