Don't Be A Serious Parent

The happiest chlidren I know have what my nieces and. nephews call "funny" parents. Funny parents let themselves Ko. They will take a joke against themselves, and know that they needn't keep dignity down by standing on it.

Being a parent is a serious bust- ness. But, like any other im- purtant job, you do. It best when you are Ight-hearted about it..

It is a pity to be so intent on checking up vitamins and regulat- ing fresh air that you forget to make the baby smile. The habit of laughter is far more valuable than the habit eating quietly!

Being a funny parent is perhaps more a question of temperament thin energy. You know the sort of mother who can turn' a day trip occasion for from home into an
