So much time has elapsed between the expiration of leave granted to Mr. Kay and the date of your despatch of Yeran Desath, it appears to me that scarcely sufficient time had been allowed for occurrence of any accidental circumstance over which he may have had no control. In the event however of Mr. Kay's rejoining on receipt of this despatch you will be at liberty to consider the office vacated.
