In sympathy with easter, advices received from New York the market opened 3/8 of a cent lower for all deliveries as compared with Wednesday's closing quotations,
Quiet conditions prevailed throughout the day. Only a moderate demand for "actuals" by consuming countries was in evidence, whilst dealers and speculators were disinclined to operate either way to any larger extent.
Subsequently, prices declined by 1/8 cent for all deliveries due to some profit-taking and liquidation, the market closing with a quiet undertone...
