I beg to acknowledge your Letter of this date, requiring me to answer the following questions, in reference to the outgoing mail of the 15th September last, to which I beg to reply, to the best of my recollection, viz

"At what hour, to the best of your recollection, did Lieut. Woldridge ... to be the first portion of the Mails ? It was before ten past 3rd Hour- I.M. after out the P.M.-
