The market opened 1/4 of a cent higher for all deliveries as compared with Monday's closing quotations.
In sympathy with conditions prevailing in London and New York the market ruled steady, after the opening. Good demand for "ac- tuala" by consuming centres was in evidence, whilst there was fair buying interest in futures displayed by traders. However, little sup- port to the market was given by speculators who still prefer to main- tain side-Hine positions for the time being.
Later in the session the market became quiet, prices declining by 1/8 cent for all delleries due to profit-taking and some liquida- tion.
Closing tone was quiet.

The market early declined on liquidation, realising and hedging and then rallied on better Wall Street sentiment, higher Liverpool prices and scarcity of contracts. The market finally closed stendy, with fairly active trade, professional and foreign buying.
NEW YORK RUBBER
After opening steady, the market gradually drifted down," owing to lack of support, unencouraging cables and liquidation. The volume of business passing was small.

The market was another dull and rather uninteresting affair, with prices declining in sympathy with other grain markets, favour- able weather reports and liquidation
