In response to improved conditions prevailing in London and New York the market ruled steady after the opening. Better demand for "actuals" by consuming centres induced some buying interest in for- ward positions by dealers and speculators.
Later in the session prices advanced by 1/8 cent for all deliveries on further trade and speculative buying.
Closing tone was quiet but steady.
It was announced that shipments of Native and Estate Rubber from the Dutch East Indies during November amounted to 19.497 tons as against 30,495 tons for October, whilst Exporters' Stocks of Native Rubber at the end of November totalled 12.899 tons as against 12,604" tons qui October 31, 1838.

In the absence of any incentive, traders are awaiting the Bureau Report and the Farmers' Referendum Later, the market advanced on Liverpool and Bombay cables and Commissiou House buying, but reacted on liquidation of new months. Foreign operations were met by hedge-selling.

.. The market continued to advance under the leadership of de- mand, credited to Japanese interests and a Commission House, which absorbed dealer offerings and pront-taking on the scale-up. Factory interest was maintained.
CHICAGO WHEAT
Profit-taking and the heaviness of the Winnipeg market wiped out the early rallies. A larger estimate of the Argentine crop, with the harvest reported in full swing, has more than offset the deteriora- tion reported from Kansas and the strength of "corn and securities. Mills were fair buyers.
