The Chinese Ambassador to this city has received the following telegram from the Foreign Minis- try in Chungking relative to the situation on different fronts: "Strong pressure on the Central Chinese front during the past fort- night has compelled the Japanese to remain of the defensive. In the meantime the Chinese motor- ized units have harassed the Ja panese rear Hank in Taiplehchan District and have reconquered the towns of 'Changcheng. in South Honan Province, and Lotien in East Hapet Province.
