the 9th June.
Mr. Almada gave in a patent leaf-holder, and after seeing they were correct I took them to His Excellency, and left them with him. I boldly hinted to him to bring the further circumstances to His Excellency's recollection, but I may state that of these Despatches No. ... was the Publication Despatch, while the Blue Book Despatch N. 79, is further on the file.
I trust I have done sufficient ... I may add that the Blue Book, in the preparation of which I met with unusual difficulty, was not ready till that very afternoon, the 9th. My first impression, is that it was placed also before His Excellency that day, but this I cannot say I am certain of it.
I am convinced that Despatch N:79 and my letter were among the papers in the leaf holder. Knowing the Despatch was sent the day before the Mail went, if they were handy.
The ... Mail left on Sunday, the 10th June.
