The common grudge against Hongkong for being “a dead city" and "a hole of a place" from the point of view of cultural environ- ment has been almost unanimously expressed to me by all my newly 7438 80 acquired intellectual friends in the Colony. QUEEN MARIE'S HEART

SON OBEYS, LAST WISH

In accordance with the will of the late Queen Marie of Rumania, her heart was de posited on her birthday, in the Royal chapel at Balele by her son, King Carol.

The resting-place which Queen Marie selected for her heart is the church of Stella Mark, built ac- cording to her own design, directly on the shore of the Black Sea.

The direction in Queen Marie's will concerning the disposal of her heart reads: "Tenha Juva (the Royal castle at Balcle) was my own creation. There it was per- mitted me to conjure up reality from a dream. I demand there- fore from my con Carol that he lay my heart to rest there."

King Carol and Crown Prince Michael brought the silver Turn containing her heart in the Royal train from Bucharest to Constanza, There they embarked in the des- troyer Regina Marie. They had to land from the destroyer in a pin- nace owing to bad weather. A Royal salute of 21 guns was fired.

Two of Queen Marle's daughters were waiting on shore, the ex- Queen Elizabeth of Greece and Prifices Neana of Habsburg, with her husband. Prince Anton, and its other relatives.
