EPORTS WHICH WERE CIRCULATING IN THE COLONY TO THE EFFECT THAT CANTON CITY HAD FALLEN TO THE JAPANESE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON REMAINED OFFICIAL- LY UNCONFIRMED UP TO AN EARLY HOUR THIS MORNING. ____Normal means_of_communication between Hongkong_and_Canton having been disrupted, newspapers and news agencies yesterday found it impossible or extremely difficult to establish connections with the Kwangtung capital.
