In sympathy with steady conditions prevailing. In London and New York the market opened with prices unchanged from Monday's quotations.
Throughout the sesalon very quiet conditions prevailed. Despite of fair demand for "actuals" very little interest to operate was dis- played by dealers and speculators who preferred to await further developments due to reports received from London that Estates had commenced selling forward part of their production of 1939 which is carller than anticipated. Prices to-day moved within narrow limits on a quiet market. Higher foreign advices and absence of selling pressure caused an early advance, but prices later eased on liquidation and on the easiness of the stocks market, together with a fair amount of speculative selling.
NEW YORK RUBBER
After an early decline following on lower foreign advices the market settled down to a consolidation of the recent advance in a day of narrowly irregular movements and mixed trading. Finally, there the whole, was a further slight decline on profit-taking. but, on prices were well held.
CHICAGO WHEAT
The market to-day was very quiet, with buying of an extremely cautious, natüre and consisting mainly of covering against sales. Sympathy with 'Winnipeg' imparted steadiness, but this was partly off- set by an improvement in weather conditions both here and in the Southern Hemisphere
