Over Five Hundred Dead In Chinlunfeng Area

FURTHER DETAILS REVEALING THE HEAVY LOSSES of the Japanese 101st Division have been obtained from unimpeachable

sources.

The 149th Regiment and the 157th Regiment of the 101st Divi- ston which fought in the Singtze sector from August 19. suffered so heavily that they had to be reinforced by the 101st and the 103rd Regiments of the same division.

AFTER SANGUINARY BATTLES AT TUNGKULING, Hsikuling · and Santhuehchien, the 101st Regiment was almost entirely wiped out. Among those killed, were Major Kawarami of the 3rd Battalion, Capt. Orawa of the 10th Company, Capt. Kitakami, 1st-Lieut. Yoshi- take, 2nd-Lieut. Nagol, 2nd-Lieut. Wakao.
