What is claimed to be the longest direct jelephone and telegraph line in the world is now being built from Moscow to Khabarovsk in Siberia.

The new line will be more than 5.400 miles long-almost 1,250 miles longer than the direct line from Halifax to Vancouver, across Canada which is at present the lungest line in the world.

On the new line it will be possi- ble to transtnit simultaneously three telephone conversations. 19 cables and one telephoto over one pair of wires.-International.
