The very last question and answer in the Blue Book containing Proceedings of the Committee of 1847 show that Brown, M.P., a merchant and member of the Committee, informed by the London Custom House Officers whence the Customs Officers derived their information, stated that Amoy was not a Free Port. This singular information is not mentioned.
