The market opened 1 cent higher for all deliveries as compared with Monday's closing quotations.
Shortly after the opening the market ruled firm in sympathy with very stendy conditions prevalling in London and New York dục to the retention of the 45 per cent. export quota for the last quarter of this year. Demand for "actuals" was good, whilst active buying interest was displayed by dealers and speculators:

The latest development in the Czech problem is a Sudeten ultimatum to the Czech Government for the -with- drawal of exceptional measures in the Sudeten district's Prices de- clined on liquidation of near months. Later, the market further de- clined on general selling, unfavourable foreign news and the weak- ness of the stock market.
