RECEPTION AT RECREIO

The Club de Recreio was for the first time in many months again the scene of a reception yesterday, the "very-newly- weds", being Miss Elste Aurora Britto and Mr. Antso Em- manuel Ribeiro.

Scene of the ceremony was the Rosary Church, the Rev. Father L. M. Rossi officiating. Gowned in satin, satin trimmed with silver lace: was the pretty bride. Princess'line cut and Jullet cap were the bride's choice for smartness. And ginger lilies, tube- roses. fern made up her bouquet.

Both bride and groom had sisters. Groom had one sister, bride had two. There can only be one Mald of Honour. On the groom's sister fell the choice. Clad in pink net. Miss Marie Ribeiro was the Mald of Honour

THE BRIDESMAIDS The Misses Olga and Marie Britto were the two bridesmaids. They were in blue net. their bouquets were of gladioli.

Best man was Mr. C. M. Fa "Silva, groomsman was Mr. D.. F. Lopes. The bride's mother Mrs. Lia Britto, was in navy blue lace.

Little else can we tell you of the wedding, a uttle äput bride and groom.

The Nederlandsch-Indisch Han-" delsbank was where the bride toll. ed away

The Standard-Vacuum Oil Com- pany was where the groom tolled away. A Recreio socialite, friends say he plays, both bridge and mah jongg, delights his apponents with occasional losing streaks. Another pastime yesterday's groom is an ardent supporter of the Recrelo baseball squad

CAN YOU MAKE GOOD COFFEE?

GOOD coffee can be made in any pot, whether it is a dripolstor, tricolator, slex, valve-type percolator, valveless percolator, or the old-fashion- ed pot or basin.

solutely Tresh coffee of a fine blend and the right grind for the pot to be used, made in a clean and freshly scalded container, is essential for good coffee. To best retain the aroma, keep the coffee in a closed cari when not in use.

Freshly drawn water should always be used and both the coffee and, water should be measured to get the right strength. Never allow coffee to boll, as boiling develops bitterness and destroys both the favour and the aroma. For the best favour, coffee should be served as soon as it is made.

IF YOU ARE BRUNETTE

Dark colours are good, but are apt to look matronly un- less relieved with a little paler colour, near the face. If you are warm tinted, wear blue or dark colours touched with.
