The market opened 1/2 of à cent higher for all deliveries' as compared with Wednesday's closing quotationă.
Throughout the session the market ruled very steady to firm. Good demand for physical Rubber was in evidence, whilst consider- able buying interest in forward positions for trade and speculative accounts caused sellers to adopt a reserved attitude. A fair volume of business was transacted at 281 cents for January-March options and at correspondingly higher rates for more distant positions.
The better sentiment was created by overnight cables reporting on an agreement having been reached between Russia and Japan as to an immediate cessation of hostilities and the opening of nego
ilations for a settlement of the dispute, thus removing, for the mo- ment, one of the principal causes of uncertainties, which kept the the market in suspense for the last few days. With confidence re- turning higher markets are expected.
Closing tone was very steady.
