The King began a long day of official visits and receptions in Paris this morning by laying a wreath on the Unknown Warrior's Tomb at the Arc de Triomphe. Having reverently placed the wresih in position the King remained for a brief space with bowed head.
The King wore the uniform of Field Marshal and was accom. panied by the British Ambassador. Sir Eric Phipps. His Majesty was received by the Minister for Pensions, M. Champetter de Ribes, while the band played the British and French National anthems.
After adding his signature to the golden book His Majesty shook hands with the officers present and returned to the Quai D'Orsay,
