RECREIO AND

IN NEEDLE MATCH

Kowloon Team

Team Nose Home By Four-Shot Margin

CIVIL SERVICE SCORE THEIR FIRST POINT

By B. R. Swiller

The bowls match last Saturday between Recreio and Craigen power was a veritable battle of the giants. Though it is still early in the season to make prophecies, it is probable that the ultimate des- tination of the shield rests on the result of this match. Recreio, therefore, by virtue of their four shot win, are in a very favourable position. But bowls is such a funny game that it is quite on the cards that after all Craigengower or even the Kowloon Cricket Club, who are now third in the Table, may emerge victorious in the end. However, that remains to be seen.

Recrelo have a lot for which to thank EX.M. Silva as it was enurely he who carried them to victory with a dine win of 13 shots that Recrelo over Bradbury. But for his effort. it is conceivable would have lost. as both R. F. Luz and H. A. Alves went down tu 2 Basa and U. M. Omar respectively. F.. 8liva and his men played very well indeed. J. E. Noronha again proving himself to be

very reliable lead.-

However, it must have caused Silva some anxiety that on the 18th head he conceded a four to his opponent when those four shots could be spared. But this was the result of a fine plece of work ay Bradbury who, going down to bowl with Silva lying three shots. pook the jack back some distance for a count of four in his favour.

Basa did well to beat R. F. Lu.:
