Husband Gives Vivid Description Of Grim Struggle In Bedroom

Graphic details of how his wife. Mrs Sybil Ruby Challinor, met her untimely death in the early hours of May 5 as her residence No. 499. The Peak, were related by Mr. B. H. Challinor, manager of the Imperial Chemical Industries (China) Ltd, giving evidence at the Central Court yesterday afternoon before Mr. Butters when Lam Chan, his former cook boy, faced charge of murder.

Mr. John Whyatt. Crown Counsel, conducted the prosecution. Lam Chan, who was not legally represented, appeared in Court with crutches, not having fully recovered from injuries sustained in an alleged attempt to escape.

The prosecution alleged that accused murdered Mrs. Challinor by stabbing her with two kitchen

knives.

Accused, said Mr Whyatt, was employed as a cook boy at the time of the murder. He had been employed as such for about 15 months. His work as a cook boy was described 2.9 satisfactory. The relations between accused and his employer were the re lations that usually exist between mistress and servant.
