CHINESE EVACUATE SAN TSAO ISLAND

Bhekkt, June 13.

To avoid oppression and military construction work, all residents in San Tsao Iland, opposite, Chungshan county, have evacuated for the main- land, according to fishermen arriving here today.

Apart from Japanese bluejackets, garrisoning the land, the other inhabitants are people from Formosa and Shantung doing contracting work for the Japanese:

Kao Lan Island, which is near to Ban Trac Island, was craonated by Japanese blusjackets some time ago. Beveral ronins are left to guard the island, but at night they remain aboard the armed trawlers for fear of sudden Chinese attacks (In- ternational);
