EASY WIN FOR
DERBYSHIRE
Somerset proved no real match A. for Derbyshire at Derby recently. In their second truings Derbyshire required 62 runs to win, and they made these with the loss of tw wickets. The match was over soon after luncheon.
That Derbyshire had to score as many as 62. runs to win was due A. almost entirely to a gallant effort by Buse, who scored his first hun- dred county cricket.
Top scorer with 47 in the first innings, he reached 104 after the hours batting. during whilch. The made no real mistake. Going when two wickets had fallen for 18. Buse was ninth out at 193, having played with skift and con- Adence against bowling which proved too accurate and varied for the remainder of the side. He i eight 4's, and was eventuall; bow- led by Mitchell.
||
Smith, who began Derbyshire's task in brisk fashion, and Wor- thington were soon out, but Alder man hit hard and the remaining runs were quickly obtained.
