LAWN BOWLS

NOTES

- (Continued from Page 10) Hyde were responsible for the K.C.C. win by 17 shots, E. F. Fincher and R. Dunean ending in a 17-all tle. Why it is that the Bowling Green keep on losing their matches is a mystery to me. To date they have only one victory to their credit, though, in my oplalon, they are as good a side as any in the league. I hope they may improve as the season progresses as otherwise they may find themselves occupying a very humble position in the league table. I. however, this should catch the eye of a KC.C. bowler, let me hasten to add that I do not mean to belittle their effort, as I have every indication to believe that their victory was not the re- sult of a Auke."

better of J. J. Basto, and F. X. Soares by 7 and 5 shots respec- tively.

CLEAN RECORD

In the Third Division, the. Kowloon Footballers have won all their matches so far. They beat Recrelo last Saturday by 12 shots and considering the fact they played on the lat- ter's green this victory was all the more praiseworthy. Inci- dentally, the three Portuguese teams are all square in the matter of points scored--each team having only won once, Thanks to R.A. Trengove and his men who had the better of J. Pau by 16 shots, the Hong Kong Football Club beat Cralgengower- by 10 shots. Beach was 2 up over Alves, but Pegg was down by shots to Medina.

NEEDLE MATCH

The spotlight next Saturday will be turned on the match between the Craigengower and Indians whe will clash at Sookunpos for lead- ership in the First Division. Though the latter have done much better than they had expected. their most sanguine supporters will not expect them to be able to have the better of their undoub- tedly formidable opponents. But the game of bowls is so fraught with possibilities that I will not put a victory for the Indians as entirely something of which dreams are made.

LEADERS CLASH

It is a coincidencs that the two teams occupying the first and second positions in the Bowls League tables in all "three Divisions are to meet each other next week. In the Third Division, the Kowloon Football Club, the only side in that particular. Division 10 have won all their matches, will oppose the Hong Kong Electric.

Bearing in mind their record and also the fact that they will be playing at home (which in itself is 'a distinct advantage) the Row- | loon Footballers can reasonably be expected to give a good account of themselves and win quite comfort- ably.
