The following changes in the Government were announced officially this evening. Lord Swinton, Secretary for Air, who has resigned, is succeeded by Sir Kingsley Wood, Minister of Health.
*Lord Harlech, Colonial Secretary, who has resigned, is replaced by Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, Dominions Secretary.
Lord Stanley, Under-Secretary for India, becames Dominions Secretary,
Mr. Waiter Elliot, Secretary for Scotland, and a former Minister of Health returns to that post. Lieutenant-Colonel John Colville, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, takes Mr. Elliot's place at the Scottish Office.
Captain Euan Wallace, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, becomes Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
Lieutenant-Colonel John Muirhead, like his chief, Lord Swinton, leaves the Air Ministry, but Under-Secretary for he becomes Under-Secretary for India and Borina. His place as Parliamentary Air is taken by Captain Harold Balfour, Conservative member for the Isle of Thanet.
Mr. R. H. Cross, who was Government Whip from 1935 to 1937 and latterly Vice-Chamberlain to the Household, becomes Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade-(British Wireless).
