MISUNDERSTANDING IS REGRETTED BY H.K.F.A.

AVERY WAS BONA FIDE MEMBER WHEN HE PLAYED FOR K.F.C.

·

At the monthly meeting of the Hong Kong Football Association Council yesterday it was decided that, in view of the explanation of the Kowloon Football Club that A. Avery, of the Istington Corin- thians, was a bona fide number of the K.F.C.. when he played for them against the Middlesex in the Senior Shield Competition some time ago, that the Amociation should write the Club concerned, re- gretting the misunderstanding and at the same time assuring the Club that no reflection was east on the sportsmanship of any mem- ber or members of the ELF.C.

It will be remembered that the fact that Avery wis played in the match in question caused some considerable discussion.

Barbarians Again

Beaten

The Barbarians concluded their Easter tour at Newport on April 17, when they were beaten by one goal und one, try (8 points) to nothing. The tour was hardly so success- ful as usual, quite apart from the! fact that the results consisted of one victory, one drawn game, and two defeats. It was disappointing to find a side so full or backs able to score only three tries in four matches, and two of those tries against the weakest of their four opponents. Penarth.
