Sirdar Rumjahn On Top Form
By F. Mela
The Rumjahn cousins won their way into the final of the open tennis doubles championship of the Colony when they defeated Luk Ding-cheong and Wong Shiu-wing by three straight sets on the Stand Court at the Hong Kong Cricket Club yesterday.
Only a handful of spectators turned out to watch the match. It was a pity for better tennis was played than most people must have imagined. I think I am right in saying that an easy victory for the Rumjahns was expected but the holders had to fight for each point and one of the features of the match was that in each of the three sets the Chinese ran away with an early lead.
