Hankow, Apeli 19. HINESE MILITARY DESPATCHES FROM THE TIENTSIN-PU- KOW RAILWAY front report that Japanese reinforcements for the drive in southeast Shantung total four divisions. The Chinese command at Hsuchowfa does not believe that the Japanese will make their main drive through Lingyl. It believes thal the Japanese operating in southeast Shantung and those on the Tiantsin-Pukow Rafway front will try to form a junction on the plains south of the Taishan and Yishan mountains.

THIS MOVE, ACCORDING TO THE CHINESE COMMAND, will be taken partly to relieve the Japanese troops at present surrounded within the city walls at Fihsien and Tsaochwang and partly to corabine the strength of the two columns for the big drive through the Chinese lines between Jelshan Lake and the Grand Canal.
