Five States Represented On Council Have Already Recognised Italian Rule

London, April 11.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, announced in the House of Commons today that the British Government had request- ed the League of Nations to include in the agenda of the forth- coming Council meeting the question of the consequences arising from the existing situation in Abyssinia.

Sir Percy Harris (Labour) asked whether that meant that Bri- tain was going to take the initiative in the recognition of Italian conquest of Abyssinia.

Mr. Chamberlain advised Sir Percy to wait and see the text of the letter to the League.
