PRESSING ON TSINAN
Daladier Is To Succeed Blum
BUT CABINET GIVEN SHORT LIFE
Paris, April 8
Political circles generally bellevo that immediately after M. Blam's | resignation, M. Edouard Daladier will be entrusted with the task of farming the new Cabinet.
Great difficulties are foreseen in the constituting of a Cabinet cap- able of surviving for any length or time, since recent developments would appear to render a so-called government of National Union im- possible.
Under these circumstances the | only alternatives, in the opinion of
military circles, would be a "C&-| binet of Public Welfare," composed of a few members without Party ties, or a Cabinet formed exclusive- ly of Radical-Socialists.
The latter solution is regarded as probable.-(Transocean),

No Water Restrictions
This Summer
The reservoirs are reasonably full" and there will be no water restrictions this year. Unless, of course, we get no rain for the next couple of months!
This was the information gathered by a Dally Press repre». 'sentative from Mr. A. B, Purves of the Public Works Department
yesterday.
It was stated that water consumption had gone up with the increased population, but the authorities were well satisfied with the quantity of water in storage.
In view of the inconvenience caused in previous years by thổ--
· rationing of the water supply, this should prove most welcome nows to the public.

Bad Reverse For Japanese
Landen, April 8:
Millary circles are watching with the closest attention the battles on the Tientsin-Pakow Railway front. Earlier Chinese claims were accepted with some reserve but the opinion is now that the Japanese have undoubtedly suffered a bad reverse at Talerchwang which, it is pointed out, constituted a dangerous salient between the railway and the Grand Canal
