The usual four events for non-winners augmented by five handicap races will comprise the programme for the First Extra Race Meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club which takes place tomorrow afternoon at the Happy Valley. At the time of writing weather pros pects are not too favourable and should the course be on the wet side punters can prepare themselves for an upset or two.
With the exception of Mr. Needa, all the visiting jockeys have returned to Shanghai and will not be seen in action at the meeting. Mr H.P. Chanson, formerly of Hong Kong and who has been riding for the last few years with a fair measure of success in Shanghal. is on a short visit to the Colony and has been persuaded to take out a few ponies.
