the Colonies as House rent an item rendered unnecessary by assigning

Commandants Quarters.

I am quite aware of

the peculiar nature of the favor I am now asking

but I earnestly hope that my long faithful services to the Crown, may induce His Lordship to give my suggestions his consideration, and I feel convinced that it will be found to answer well for public service while it will place me in a position in which I shall make it

my pride to exert my best energy and ability
