FIVE BOWLERS DO "HAT-TRICK”
By "New L.B.W.
All the cricket played in the following review were friendly matches and most of the games were tought out in a real holiday spirit.
The big encounter was, of course, the annual fixture between the Club, and the United Services but there were other matches in which, the interest, to me at least, was no less.
One of these was the really remarkable Inter-Unit affair at Bookunpoo on Sunday, when the Royal Army Medical Corpwet and beat the Royal Army Service Corps by two wickets, This was a bowlers' match, if ever there was one. Three "hat-tricks" were secured in the game, Wynne and Entwhistle thus distinguishing themselves for the Medicals and Major Swyers for the Service Corps!
The other game in which a so-called minor match produced a brillant performance was the one in which Club de Recreio entertained La Salle College. The schoolboys did not seem to regard it as a friendly match for, after allowing their hosts to run up the "huge total of 14 runs without loss, they proceeded to dismiss the whole side for 27. No one reached double figures and there were str "ducks."

It took a very strong Kowloon junior team to beat the Diocesan schoolboys, and then they only managed it by two wickets. Ken- neth Baxter and Bertram Lay con- tributed 82 ruts to the K.C.C. total of 137. Baxter hit hard, mostly to leg, for his.62.

Just to show that the old brigade were by no means helpless, A. V. Gosano dismissed five Q the schoolboys, and gave away only 16 runs in the process.

What About It Promoters?
WHO WILL STAGE TOURNAMENT?
(To the Editor, "The Hong Kon
Daily Press") -
非
Dear Sir, I have followed the articlés on boxing in your paper with considerable interest, also the challenge issued by Beaman Bob Harvey and the acceptance by Bat- tling Rio. However, what I have been wondering is; have we no one to promote the fight.
Ever since my arrival in the Colony some years ago. I have always taken a great interest in boxing and I remember the days when Kid Marriott, Corporal Scott, Iron Bux, Sky Kerrison and Jim Cartledge used to treat us to some really excellent boxing,"
After these stalwarts left the men like local ring, there were Ewin, Crichton, Lake, Dobson, Judge and Rowles to keep interest going in the noble art.

It seems a thousand titles. there- fore, that although we have the talent at our disposal, Hong Kong boxing enthusiasts must do without their favourite sport because there is no representative body to spon- Bor the fights. What about start- ing another association to control boxing in Hong Kong? I for one will be glad to do my little hit to- wards getting things going, but I would suggest that to be at all suc-divide. cessful the support of the Army and Navy must be obtained.- Yours etc..
