Another of the new Australian ponies. Little Audrey, of the Wolff and Harrison stable, also impressed with a fine run over the mile, the last quarter being timed at 28.3
Of the griffins, National Detence and Pintarthings both ran with an easy stride. The former did the alle (last quarter 29.2) and Pinfarthing. running over the same distance, clocked 29.4 for the last quarter.

HOCKEY WIN
Close Game With "Dorsetshire"
The better combination of HMS. Adventure forwards was respon- sible for their hockey win over H.M.S. Dorsetshire at Happy Valley yesterday, the score being 3 goals to 1 in favour of the former.
Play in the opening minutes was scrappy but after the teams had warmed up the standard of hockey was definitely high.
Hard pressed in the closing minutes of the first half, the Dor- setshire defence did well to hold the secre down to two goals to one against them, the scorers being Lt. Calwell and Chief Stoker" Jennings /Adventure) and Sub.-Licut. Cox
After the change over the play was more even and some really good stickwork was seen: Towards the closing minutes of the game a fine movement down the wing gave A.B. Harvey possession of the ball, and carrying it into the circle, he found the corner of the net with a very hard drive.
GOOD BATTING. BY THOMAS
Dockyard Police Win Cricket Match
An excellent innings for 51 not out by C.P.O. Tel. Thomas featured the friendly cricket match at Happy Valley yesterday between the Royal Naval Dockyard Police and HMS Herald which the former won by two wickets.
Thomas, who is from HM.S. Parthian, came in at the last moment to make up the team for the Dockyard Police and judging by his diaplay yesterday it is ex- pected that he will be chosen to represent the Navy in the local
cricket League.
HMS. Herald had first least of the wicket and made a very sport ing declaration with the total at 106 for 9. Top-scorer for them was Knight who had no less than Eve boundaries in his 22 runs! Smith was the most successful bowler for the Dockyard Police, his Egures being 3 for 27.
Thomas and McLew opened the innings for the Dockyard Police and runs came at a steady rate. The first wicket did not fall until 38 ruris, were hoisted. Thereafter the bowlers gained the upper, hand and with nobody to stay in with Thomas, victory for the Herald. Indicated. But Honeywell was came to the rescue and though he only collected three runs, he kept his end up, leaving the scoring to Thomas who carried his bat for 51 runs

FANLING HUNT SEASON. REVIEWED
Three Very Enjoyable Meets
BY JACK SPRAGGON
We opened our season on December 5, with a lawn most at Tica Ping Stan, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. "B" Stanton. Last Season's huntsman, Capt. “Douggie" Swinburn, was in charge of "the Field," which was well up to previous standard. After partaking of the well-known hospitality of our hosts, we moved off across the stone bridge spanning the river Indus to the foot hills where bounds were put in and were away on a red hot scent in the direction of Sheungbul,
On reaching the patrol road hounds crossed it and bore down towards Là Wu breakworks when swinging right handed, they raced over the cut paddy fields to Sandy Ride, along the base of which they ran, coming up with “the Fox,” Just shoṛt of San Uk Lin. Hacking on to "the Gallops" we had an excellent run back to Kwanti; taking a slightly left handed circle, around Star Hill up to the Orchard, when turning sharp right we "killed" on Kitten HIL

Early in the rame it became evident that the Middlesex were the better team insofar as combination was concerned and it was this factor that won for them the three valuable points.

An outstanding feature of the game was the fine passing of the Club forwards but they were un- fortunate that their movements were broken up time and again by a rock-like defence. Playing in his usual position at centre- forward, Willie Reed spoiled many a promising move on the part of the United forwards, of whom Malik and, G, Singh were out standing.
