The Army pack played better than the Club and gave their threes more opportunities. They opened scoring and in a rush to the Club goal, Bailey, Ashford and Hamlin » made a beeline for the ball and Hamlin managed to get to the ball and put it over the line for the first try which was not converted.

'GOOD SCORES

As will be seen from the scores given below, ́L, Cpl. 'Langford had a lead, as regards the nett scores, of no less than 8 points över Sgt. V. W. Cooper of the same unit who scored 86, and as regards the han- dicap scores L/Cpl. Langford again came first, and therefore took the first handicap spoon in this series. The second spoon was won by Sst Cooper, with a score of 88, as men- tioned, and the third by Cpl. Bur- kitt, again of the same unit, who, made a nett store of 74.

As regards the. S.R. (b) shooting. the nett spoon was won by CL-. Gnr. Moody, while the handicap spoon was awarded to, Capt. I. B. Trevor of the H.K.V.D.C.

RIFLK CLUBS' COMPETITION " Concurrently with the Spoon Shoot, a competition was held between

members of the Rifle Clubs of the 1st Battalion The Middlesex Regiment and the 1st Bn The Seaforth High landers, two members of the latter Club were using the "1914" rife, and therefore the Middlesex team was awarded a handicap of 14 points, which brought their aggre- gate score to 054, compared with 624 made by their opponents.

THE MAGAZINE The new issue of the Associn- tion's magazine, the "HKRA Bulletin," containing the revised handicaps corrected up to 'Decem- ber 15, 1937, will be published to- morrow, and copies will be dis- |tributed to all concerved during

the next two or three days.

Membership continues to in- crease, and on the last day of the year stood at 665: since then. fur- ther applications have been re- ceffet, and now that the rifle is again available for private purchase, it seems likely that there- will be a gradual, if not spectacu- lar, growth in membership during the remainder of the season.

The Year-Book has now reached Its final form, and it is expected that distribution will be possible about January 20. *-

Under the Rules of the Associa tion nominated life memberships have been awarded to Mr. Law- rence Kadoorie, and. Captain F: P. Sequeira, of the Hong Kong Volun- teer Defence Corps.
