The price for Ready Sliver was $1,610 unchanged yesterday but the For- ward rate dropped 1/4, the quota- tions being 18 11/16 and 18 1/18 respectively, Silver advices ported Bears covering for Spot against their forward cornmit- ments. After the official "axing the market was quietly steady owing to scarcity of stocks, Ameri- câ bought for Spot but business was small owing to lack of supply.. Subsequently forward sales by In- dia were accepted by the Contin- ent and America American Sil- ver was quoted at 44 3/4 for Spot. The London-New York CrOSS- rate was quoted at 499.75. New York-London was quoted at 499.-
