Fair business has been passing in utility stocks at slightly declin- ing rates. Hong Kong Electrica came on offer, from 355 down to $53. Telephones (old) are lower
at $281 and the "New" at. 39 sales. Star Ferries slipped to $80 busi- ness done, and Yaumatis are on The China Light. offer at $25 annual pronts are slightly below those of last year, but the divi- dend is maintained at 50 cts (10 per cent). The company proposes to issue the balance of its unissued capital. viz 200.000 shares: at par to shareholders, in the proportion at 1 sham to 9. Publication of these particulars caused a slightly easier market for the old shares, down to sit and the New to $11.05 cum all. The "rights" are bid for at $51.
The buying rate for Sandakan Lights has been raised to $14. without

Hotels were dealt in at $5.20 and 'Land at $313.
The Manila market doesn't ap- pear to have a kick left in it, and
it may be some consolation to us here to know, that if business
is quiet in Hong Kong, it 13 stagnant in Manila,
However there are a few hope- ful ones abroad, wishing to buy Antamoks around 80
cts., San Mauricios at about the same and Consolidated Mines at something over 2 cents.
