A UNIQUE FEAT Prof. Reifler sald coat "it is the unique feat of the Chinese genius that he has created an alphabet, which does not, like our alphabet, indicate merely the pronounciation of every word, but which consists of Ideological elements contained in all ideas. Such an alphabet we can best call a spiritual alphabet. All Chinese characters are cum- posed of letters of this spiritual alphabet, so that having learned this alphabet we are able to read and to understand all pictographs. No other race on earth has found such a wonderful solution of the problem of the written mission of thoughts as has the Chinese race.
