If it is thrills and excitement you are seeking then go along and see Ann Harding and Basil Rath- bone in ." Love

from 1 Stran- ger" which is showing to-day at the King's Theatre.

Make no mistake. This is not -just-a-horrific-im-but an in- tensely interesting, brilliantly acted study of the macabre. The film is a grim pyschio-analytical drama of a murderer, and was adapted by Frances Marton, Hollywood's high- est paid scenarist. from the suc- cessful play by Frank Vosper, which in turn, was based upon an Agatha Christle, short story.

GIRLS CAN PLAY

Nothing escapes Hollywood. Now it's America's newest sports craze, girls' "softball games, that provides the background for a picture, and a swell picture at that. "Girls Can Play," the Columbia production which opened yesterday at the Majestic Theatre, is" snappy, thril-" ling, and comical, and fills the screen with enough beautiful girls to make a couple of musicals.

Jacqueline Wells and Charles Quigley, the leading players, ac quit themselves admirably. Both of these up-and-coming stars "do full justice to their roles. As for the supporting cast, it is unusually good. with Rita Hayworth, John Gallaudet, George McKay, Gene Morgan, Patricia Farr and Guinn Williams standing out.
